Ravens take an important role in the myths and stories of many peoples. Often a raven is depicted as a power animal or a constant companion of magicians and wise women. Thus, the Norse god Odin always had two ravens sitting on his shoulders, which told him what was going on in his kingdom.

The black bird is said to give us courage and determination when it comes to making decisions and possibly upsetting choices, such as changing jobs or homes. Also among the North American Indians, ravens and crows are considered the symbolic animals of wisdom and intelligence.
