Eclipse (auripigment lime) is used in stone healing to strengthen vitality and life intensity. In gemstone astrology Eclipse is used to stimulate the regenerative power of Scorpio.
The origin of the name "Eclipse" is unclear. However, it is probably derived from the English term "eclipse", meaning darkening, and alludes to the contrast of black and yellow-orange colors of the mineral, reminiscent of a solar eclipse. Synonyms are Bumblebee or Bumbelbee Jasper/Jaspis, Bumblebee Jasper or Bumblebee Stone, Mustard Jasper or Mustard Jasper, mineralogically correct is the name Realgar-Calcite.
