A rarity from Germany: Pyrite in slate!
Origin of the raw material Lehesten, Thuringia.

The historic slate mining in Lehesten in the Thuringian Forest is one of the oldest and largest open-pit mines for roofing slate in Europe. Since the 13th century, slate has been mined, split and processed into slate panels, roof and wall coverings in Lehesten.

Size of the drilled Tumbled Stone approx. 3.0cm, diameter of the hole approx. 2.5mm.

In modern stone medicine, Pyrite in slate is considered the stone of openness. It helps not to take oneself so important and to laugh at oneself sometimes. Negative thoughts can be let go more easily.

Pyrite in slate is also called Apache gold in reference to the places where it was found in the USA.

The white bands and areas are mostly quartz, occasionally calcite.
