Longstones are the ideal complement to classic gemstone styli and gemstone wands. Thanks to their stable shape, the freeform longstones can be used in a gemstone massage either in the fingers like a pen or in the fist.
Onyx longstones are particularly suitable for deeper massages and applications on large muscle areas (e.g. back or legs).
Onyx is not colored, as the numerous light-colored inclusions clearly show. Black chalcedony, as Onyx is also known, is used in gemstone healing to strengthen a sense of responsibility and self-confidence.
The name Onyx is derived from the Greek word "onyx" for "nail"; presumably this name, which has been in use for many centuries, refers to the surface of the polished stone, which is reminiscent of shiny fingernails. Spellings such as onix or onyk are therefore incorrect.
