Chakras (chakra in Sanskrit: "wheel, disc, circle") are the energy hubs of our body. The doctrine of the chakras is found in many ancient texts, especially from India and China. The traditions vary somewhat regarding the number, size and location of the chakras. Mostly it is assumed that there are 7 - 9 main chakras, which are located along the vertical central axis of the body and represent the main energy centers of the human being. Each chakra is associated with a certain quality and, from stone healing, also with a certain beneficial gemstone.
