Ammonite (Dactylioceras) in shale from Holzmaden (Germany), appr. 10cm
This piece comes from the famous wood grubs in Baden-Württemberg, in the south of germany. This location has gained its importance by beautiful fossilized ichthyosaurs. The ammonites mostly belong to the genus dactylioceras and are about 180 million years old. This genus has great scientific importance as guide fossils of the lower Jurassic strata.
