Pack of 4 large brucite crystals (approx. 5.0 - 7.5cm)

The bright yellow brucite is a fascinating, very rare representative of the oxides and hydroxides. As a metamorphic mineral it brings along an eventful history of formation. A real mood maker!

The stone has a trigonal crystal system, the molecular formula is Mg(OH)2 - magnesium hydroxide. The basic color of brucite is white; brucite from Belochistan fascinates by its bright yellow color, which is probably due to traces of iron.

The mineral was first discovered and described in 1824 by François Sulpice Beudant. Brucite received its name in honor of the American mineralogist Archibald Bruce, the founder and editor of the American Mineralogical Journal.

Origin: Belochistan Province, Pakistan
