Pietersite beads have a polished surface and a diameter of 6.0 - 6.5mm; the entire strand of pietersite is about 39cm long.
Also known as "stormstone", Pietersite is a mixture of the minerals Tiger's Eye and Falcon's Eye.
The stone medicine uses the mineral to support changes and in stormy, turbulent times to process impressions faster and to cope with conflicts.
The first find of Pietersite was made in 1962 by mineral dealer Sidney "Sid" Pieters in Namibia (then Southwest Africa); the stone is also named after him. The spelling petersite, pieterisite or pietersiet is therefore not correct.
