The interesting mesh patterns are achieved by a special technique in which the gemstone strands are heated and fine cracks develop in the surface of the agate.
When the gemstone beads come in contact with skin fat, creams, cosmetics or similar, the cracks in the surface of the agate beads are filled and the net pattern is less clearly visible. If therefore, the drawings of stone varieties with cracks are to be permanently preserved, it is best if the stones do not come into contact with the skin.
In addition to beads, a few geometric basic shapes also play an important roll in jewellery design. They are versatile in their use , whether as an element for providing shape, or as a discreet link or spacer between eye-catching unique crystals or between unusual silver links or spacers. The geometric shapes made of different coloured crystals can also be combined, ideally together with matching spacers made of silver and silver gilt or with beads, pearls or lava.
The most popular shapes have been assembled here for making necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
