The Rudrakshanuts have a diameter of about 10mm; per strand of about 40cm you will get about 40 to 44 Rudrakshas.

The color of the beads can be different shades of brown.

Especially for knotting gemstone malas the rudraksha beads are used.

The word "Rudraksha" has its origin in two Sanskrit words: "Rudra" (Lord Shiva) and "Aksha" (tears). After meditating for the welfare of all living beings on earth, Shiva awoke, opened his eyes and tears fell on the earth. From these tears then grew the Rudraksha trees. The occasional spellings Rudkaska, Rudraschka, Rudrashka or Rudsaska found in retail or wholesale are therefore incorrect.
