The gemstone malas consist of 100 red jasper beads and eight rudraksha nuts and are carefully knotted by hand with a thread that matches the color of the jasper.
The root chakra is also known as Muladhara (from the Sanskrit "Mulad" for root, foundation, beginning and "Hara" for support, base, container) and stands for courage, security and stability.
