Chain Spinel (red), 2.3-3.5mm button, faceted, extension chain, rhodium-plated

This gorgeous red spinel necklace were threaded in Germany and provided with a high-quality Clasp made of rhodium-plated silver 925. The necklace is about 43cm long; by the extension chain the length is variable between 43 and 47cm.

The buttons have a size of approx. 2,3-3,5mm x 1,5-1,8mm.

A necklace of pink Spinel can be a good companion in difficult times, because the stone gives confidence and optimism. Consistent action is supported.

There are two theories for the origin of the name Spinel: Either Spinel derives from the Greek "spin(n)os" (sparkle) or from the Latin "spinella" (small thorn). Since the 16th century, various spellings of the mineral have been used in Europe, such as spynell, spinella, and spinellus. Today the spelling Spinel is common, occasionally Spinnell can be found.
