These specially graded rough pieces are dark purple with white banding. They are ideal for decoration and as a stone for crush baskets with cheap amethyst chunks.

The size of the chips of amethyst varies from about 2.5 to 4.5 cm.

Supplied in the VE with 1kg chunks of raw amethyst; these are about 160 - 190 raw stones.

Origin of the raw material: Zambia

The name amethyst is derived from the Greek word amethystos (counteracting intoxication) and refers to the traditional belief that with an amethyst one is protected against the intoxicating effects of wine and other alcohol. Spellings such as Amathyst, Amethist, Ametist, Ametyhst, Ametyst, Amnethyst, Amthyst or Amythist are therefore incorrect.
