From Uruguay comes the best amethyst quality. The crystals of these mini-druse pieces are smaller than the Brazilian pieces, but of a gorgeous deep purple color. Very intense stone!

The name amethyst is derived from the Greek word amethystos (counteracting intoxication) and refers to the traditional belief that with an amethyst you are protected against the intoxicating effects of wine and other alcohol.
