The nephrite beads have a diameter of 2mm and are faceted; the strand is about 40cm long.

Mineralogically, Nephrite is an actionolite with many small crystals intertwined. The olive green color is caused by iron and chromium, in trade the mineral is also called Nefritjade, Nephritjade, Maorijade or New Zealand Jade.
