The finely ground salt is suitable e.g. as Salt for Cooking and for salt shakers.
The salt comes from the famous Salt Range in the north-east of Pakistan (Punjab province), which is around 160 km from Islamabad and 260 km from Lahore. The salt mines around Kehwra are located in a foothill of the Himalayas, but are not directly associated with the Himalayan massif. Alexander salt is therefore also known commercially as "Himalayan salt" or "Himalayan salt".
